Field Trips to the Ah-Tah-Thi-Ki Museum

Integral to the Seminole people is a history of determination, strength and perseverance. After enduring years of disease, warfare, enslavement and forced migration, the Seminole people were able to flee and prosper from the wetlands of the Florida Everglades. In fact, all five exhibits of the museum are used to share part of the Seminole story, from life in the 1890s to the exploration of contemporary Seminole life. In addition, keeping future generations educated about the Native American journey can help preserve the Everglades, influence core values and bridge the gap between two cultures one mind at a time.

Moreover, Big Cypress Seminole Indian Reservation not only boasts the unique Ah-Tah-Thi-Ki museum, it is also home to one of the Everglades best adventure destinations in Billy Swamp Safari.
